About Greensburg Country Club

Founded in 1904, Greensburg Country Club is a private 18-hole facility offering a premier golf experience in Western Pennsylvania. The club features a challenging par 70 championship course measuring 6,458 yards, a 25,000-square-foot full-service clubhouse, practice facilities, pool, and cabana.

The club is home to 1,200 total members, including 420 golf members, and hosts approximately 15,500 rounds annually. Greensburg Country Club maintains an active calendar of member tournaments and outside events and operates a fleet of 60 golf cars. Interns are on site in accordance with PGM guidelines.

Experience Required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of golf, the Rules of Golf, tournament operations, and golf facility management
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to promote and market programs and services
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Comfortable using email, internet, tournament software, and database systems

Essential Responsibilities

Internship Overview

The Seasonal Golf Operations Internship provides hands-on experience across all areas of private club golf operations. Interns will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and gain practical exposure to golf shop operations, tournament management, customer service, junior golf programs, merchandising, and outside services.

This position is ideal for students pursuing or considering the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program and those seeking to build a strong foundation in the golf industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with daily golf shop operations and member services
• Control and manage the tee sheet
• Collect guest and cart fees
• Assist in planning, preparing, and executing golf tournaments, including:
• Scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, pairing sheets, favors, and hole assignments
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the membership, including opportunities to golf with members
• Assist with adult clinics and the club's extensive junior golf programs
• Assist in overseeing outside services operations, including:
• Staging areas
• Practice facilities
• Golf cart storage
• Bag room operations
• Promote and sell golf shop merchandise
• Assist with inventory control, including receiving, pricing, sales, and monthly inventory counts
• Maintain a working knowledge of all membership categories
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Regular and reliable attendance required
• Ability to read and speak English is required to perform job duties

Compensation & Additional Information

• Hourly wage range starting: $12.00-$14.00, or higher based on experience
